The last 10 & under series of 2008 was a great success! We had a few new swimmers from Junior Development attend the meet which was exciting for everyone! Everyone else had lots of best times. All the work we've done on dives and streamlines off the start really showed because everyones dives have improved from the meet before!
On December 6th we had a practice meet at Millennium. It was a great oppertunity for the swimmers to try events that they might not get the oppertunity to do at a meet or feel quite comfortable with yet. We tried some 200 and 400 frees as well as some 100s of different strokes. I'm hoping that we will get another oppertunity to do something like this again when the rest of the club is attending a meet that Junior Development is not going to.
The week of December 15th will be our last week of swimming until the new year. There will be regular practice times from the 16-18th. On December 19th Junior Development is invited to come to the pool at 4:00 to join in on a fun swim with the rest of the club. The big blow-up toy has been rented out so it should be a lot of fun. Family members are welcome to accompany the swimmers to this event! I know that an e-mail had gone out about maybe going bowling on Saturday the 20th but there was not much intrest expressed so it will not be happening this year.
It's been a great first part of the season and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone (plus a few new faces!) back at the pool on January 6th, 2009!
