"I didn't get a ribbon in all my races, but I'm happy because I still tried my best."
One of the swimmers said this today and I think it is so important that everybody comes to understand what this swimmer already knows. It is great to get best times, but that isn't always going to happen. As long as you try your best on every single race, you should still be proud of yourself!
That being said...everyone did GREAT at the swim meet on Sunday! For many swimmers it was their first meet ever and they were very brave and handled the confusion very well. I was impressed with the returning swimmers for being a little more independant than last year and starting to remember when it is their turn to go to marshalling.
Analea- Great 25 free! And it was nice to see you so excited and dancing about doing a 25 fly!
Nicole- Very good 50 free! Under 1:00!
Bella- Every race was as good as the next! I'm excited to see you improve throughout the year!
Leighton-Excellent breaststroke! And even though you were worried about it, you did a great job with your 50 butterfly!
Alexa- Awesome swimming! It was great to see you smiling about every race, both before and after.
Aleysa-Wow Aleysa! You did so well! All your races were great and you sure went fast! Now you know that there is nothing to worry about for next time!
Brandon- Every race was awesome. You tried your hardest and went your fastest. You even did a flip turn on your 50 free!
Kailyn- You had a great first meet! All your strokes looked equally strong and I'm looking forward to watching you improve.
Meghan- Awesome backstroke! You had a great attitude the whole day and should be proud of yourself for trying your hardest!
Kier- Great racing! I could tell you tried your best in every race. You made switching from just 25s to doing some 50s too look easy!
Quin- I was impressed with how independent you were and how quickly you caught on to the whole experience. Awesome flip turns in 50 free and back!
Our next meet is Silver Tide's Poppy Inviational on November 8th and 9th. After that, 10 and Under Series #2 is on November 30th.

Welcome back!
A big hello to all the new and returning swimmers!
This year, I would like for swimmers from Junior Development 1 and 2 to try and be on deck 10 minutes before the start of their practice. This time is going to be used to do some simple dryland activities to help with balance and core strength. As well, arriving a bit early will help ensure that the swimmers get in the pool as soon as possible so that they have lots of time to swim.
For the first little while, both groups will be doing lots of kick and body position skills. We will also be improving our streamlines and dives.
I'm very excited and am looking forward to seeing all the swimmers improve throughout the year!
