As we move into the last few months of the year, I'm very pleased with how far everyone has come this year! At the recent Novice Series and 10 and under Series meets, there were countless best times and very few DQs. In practice, everyone is showing improvement when using the clock, streamlining off the walls, and in increasing their endurance. On April 25th those swimmers that attended the swim-a-thon did an awesome job showing off their endurance by swimming for 2 hours straight! Great work you guys!

Starting in May we will be changing our Saturday morning practice times to 8:30-9:45 or 9:30 to 10:45. This will help cut down the number of swimmers per lane.

There are not very many meets for our group available for the rest of the season. I strongly encourage everyone to sign up for Silver Cup. It is a meet hosted by our club so it's always great to see everyone there. The kids all work very hard for 4 hours a week. The reason that we practice is to be able to show off what we can do at the swim meets. I feel it is very important that parents encourage their swimmer to try the meet even if they are nervous. There is not a single swimmer in the group that is not capable of participating in the meet! If you have any questions about it please come and talk to me.

With the recent coaching changes, we were lucky enough to get 3 new swimmers in our group: Holly, Maddie, and Megan. I would like to congratulate Maddie on getting her Regional qualifying time in 200 IM at Novice Series! In order to go to Regionals (the meet that we hosted at Millennium in February) swimmers need to attain a certain time in 200 IM or 400 free. Some swimmers in Junior Development should begin thinking about making this their goal for next year!

All in all, I have been extremely impressed with everyone! Keep up the good work!! :)
